Amazon has announced it’s purchased 11 new jets for its delivery fleet. The 4 new Boeing 767-300 aircraft through WestJet will join the Amazon Air cargo network in 2021, as well as the seven aircraft from Delta can join in 2022, the on-line retail giant said Tuesday.

Purchasing its own aircraft will permit Amazon to “continue delivering regarding customers across the US within the way which they expect,” said Sarah Rhoads, Vice President of Amazon Global Air. “Having a mix of each leased and owned aircraft within our growing fleet allows us in order to better manage our operations.”
