Back in 2020 Chinese independent developer Game Science Studio made some big waves when they revealed Black Myth: Wukong, a beautiful Souls-style action-RPG that draws inspiration from the classic impressive Journey to the West. Black Myth made more headlines in 2021, when it became one of the very first video games to devote to using Unreal Engine 5. Since then, we have not heard as much about the video game– how is Black Myth: Wukong coming together? Does the game still wow like it did back in 2020 now that more current-gen games, and even the very first few Unreal Engine 5 titles, have shown up?
Well, today at the huge Geoff-Keighley-produced Gamescom Opening Night Live show, we got a fresh appearance at Black Myth: Wukong. The trailer mostly focuses on what looks to be a series of manager fights, including a huge scorpion, tiger guy, and man decked out in bones. The action looks quite intense and it’s all set to a tune being played by a man … without a head.
