During a pre-Gamescom 2023 press rundown, NVIDIA revealed that Half-Life 2 RTX is now in development. The project is being dealt with by four of the top Half-Life 2 modding teams, who have actually been approached by NVIDIA and have chosen to come together as Orbifold Studios to remaster the game with the RTX Remix developer toolkit that they received in early access.

Similar to Portal Prelude: RTX, this will support ray tracing, DLSS 3, and RTX IO. We have currently seen a work-in-progress Half-Life 2 path tracing mod made with RTX Remix, however this is on another level, as you can see in the image gallery below.

The remaster’s task has simply started, though, and the group is awaiting supports. If interested, head to nvidia.com/HalfLife2RTX to sign up with the effort.
